Okai responds to criticism over rider violations, including drink-riding and two-up riding. He sets out Luup's new rules: mandatory re-tests for 4 million users, lifetime bans for serious violations and spot alcohol checks.

Okai recounts Luup's early days with zero revenue, months-long waits for meetings with regulators, and being routed to the "toys" desk. He says that on day one he imagined the apology press conference a mobility business might one day need.

Okai and his early investor recall how they met, and a US trip where they interviewed 200–300 scooter riders in Santa Monica and Washington DC. Riders told them they would not use non-electric scooters.
