Overview
LayerX runs three businesses: Bakuraku, AI-driven back-office software for invoices, expenses and bookkeeping; Ai Workforce, AI agents for knowledge work at large companies such as Hitachi Consulting; and a fintech joint venture with Mitsui & Co. (Mitsui & Co. Digital Asset Management and Alterna trust) that issues real-estate digital securities, now above ¥100B issued. Bakuraku and Ai Workforce are sold as subscriptions. The company was founded in August 2018 by Yoshinori Fukushima (CEO) and Yuki Matsumoto (CTO). Its September 2025 Series B of ¥15B, led by TCV, took cumulative funding to about ¥28.2B.
